ABOUT THE ANALYSIS
What do we measure?
A law firm may have considerable expertise that the market can barely see. We examine how far the firm publicly shows how it commercializes its people, services and specialist expertise. The analysis follows the commercialization wheel: six activity areas and commercial management and coordination at the center. Every firm is assessed against the same questions, using documented public sources and observable technical traces.
SEVEN EQUALLY WEIGHTED AREAS
The commercialization wheel
The six areas around the wheel cover distinct parts of commercial work. The center shows what the firm publicly documents about commercial management and coordination. Each area receives an average score from 1 to 5 based on its questions. The center has the same weight as each outer area. Adding the seven area scores yields a total from 7 to 35 points.

METHOD
How the score is calculated
We assess 58 questions across seven areas. Each question receives a score from 1 to 5 based on the highest level documented on the firm's public channels or through observable technical traces. When we find no evidence for a higher level, the score is 1. Questions produce an average score for each area. The seven area scores have equal weight and add up to a total from 7 to 35 points. The score reflects what can be observed publicly; it does not establish internal use or effectiveness.
